Wolf clay is an ideal way to hold metal components in place while you solder them together (as it doesn't burn), simply pack it in and around your items before adding solder and flux and heating. After use you can simply gently pull off the clay, the clay can be placed into to a jar and water added and can then be reused as long as it hasnt absorbed too much flux. If trouble removing you can add water to soften they clay and use a toothbrush to get where you cannot reach.
