A stunning piece of handmade crewel work in the Jacobean style which is in excellent condition. It has been mounted on a hessian back which suggests to me it was framed in the Sixties or Seventies. It has a gilt gesso frame on wood which has some tiny chips to corners and one larger one 6mm x 3mm. One thing to point out is that the glass is non reflective which gives it a slightly different appearance from normal. The frame is 58 x 44 cm. The embroidery is 16 inches by 12 inches.
