The top section that resembles a cage appears not to be original to the wheel. Please study the photographs carefully to satisfy yourself as to the condition and completeness. I am not experienced in operating spinning wheels so have not tested it for actual spinning use. However, the treadle operates and the wheel spins when the pedal is pressed. There are numerous historic woodworm holes present, which is common with pieces of this age. The wood has been treated with woodworm killer as a precaution and there is no sign of active infestation. Approximate height: 113cm. Will be dismantled slightly for safe shipping.
